Terra Node – International 2nd Place Scientific Poster
ELMA 2026 (International Competition)
[Introduction]
An award-winning scientific poster conceptualizing "Terra Node," a Smart Soil-Mapper designed to revolutionize precision agriculture. Developed under the brand "NOVICE" for the international ELMA (Electrical Contest Unisma) 2026 competition, an event hosting innovators across Southeast Asia. This project specifically addressed the main theme of "Smart Robotics & Automation for Efficiency and Innovation". The piece proudly secured 2nd Place against an international pool of participants, earning special recognition from the committee with the official remark: "Your ability to present complex scientific data so clearly is inspiring."

My Approach (Visual Strategy & Clarity)
The primary challenge in designing a scientific poster is balancing dense technical mechanics with engaging visual storytelling. Focused on the "Agricultural Robotics (Smart Farming)" sub-theme, my approach utilized a vibrant, illustrative style to make the IoT and automated decision-making systems highly accessible. I established a clear visual hierarchy, guiding the viewer seamlessly from the core problem (fertilizer waste) down to the robotic anatomy, and concluding with a three-step operational impact. This structured approach was the key to successfully translating complex agricultural data into a communicative and inspiring format.
Detailed Description
Visual Elements & Composition:
Information Architecture: The layout is systematically structured. The central section introduces the robot's hardware capabilities—such as NPK probe sensors and IoT communication modules—while the bottom section breaks down the machine learning dashboard and its long-term yield impact.
Color Palette: Earthy tones of brown and green dominate the palette to reinforce the agricultural and sustainability focus. This is sharply contrasted with a bright, clear sky blue background to ensure the technological elements and white text boxes stand out prominently.
Typography: A bold, slightly playful, yet highly legible font family was selected. This maintains a modern, innovative aesthetic while ensuring that crucial scientific percentages and mechanisms remain easily readable from a distance.
